Each week, students will complete a new challenge that focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This class will focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork through hands-on, project-based learning. This class will be best suited for ages 8-10, however, older kids are welcome to join, if you feel like it will be a good fit. Students will need to be able to read and write independently.
Learn MoreWe are going to be traveling "Around the World" to each of the 7 continents. We'll learn about geography, culture, wildlife, landmarks, art and more by viewing real life pictures, watching videos and creating hands on projects for each continent. We'll also review the 5 oceans and Pangea to tie it all together. Minimal independent reading/writing will be required as we'll be reviewing everything together.
Learn MoreIn this engaging music-and-film class, students explore how sound brings stories to life on screen. Each week, we'll dive into a new concept—like how music shows emotion, how characters get their own musical themes, and how different genres create different moods. Students will experiment with instruments (boomwhackers, bucket drums, keyboards), create sound effects, score short animated clips, and even film and soundtrack their own silent movie. By the end of the session, students will participate in a fun showcase where they present a scene they’ve scored themselves. This class builds creativity, teamwork, and confidence while helping students understand the powerful role music plays in movies.
